    Required Qualifications:

    • Completion of Defrilex’s online medical terminology assessment with a passing score.
    • Third-party oral test for medical interpretation with a language rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the nationally recognized ILR scale).
    • Successful completion of a mock oral interpretation session, meeting 28 quality standards, and achieving a passing score.
    • Full background check and security screening.
    • Signed commitment to confidentiality, adherence to ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1-3+ years of professional interpreting experience in the relevant field (e.g., medical, legal, business, etc.).
    • Certification or accreditation in interpreting from a recognized institution or professional organization (e.g., ATA, RID, CCHI, NBCMI, etc.).
    • Proficiency in multiple languages, with a focus on high-demand languages.
    • In-depth knowledge of industry-specific terminology and protocols.
    • Familiarity with relevant interpreting tools and technologies (e.g., interpreting software, video remote interpreting platforms, etc.).
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in all working languages.
    • Strong cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and customs.
    • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced and demanding environments.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to different interpreting settings (e.g., conferences, legal proceedings, medical consultations, etc.).
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
